On this day, SLASH was arrested at
Ocean Way Recording where he and producer Jack Douglas were working on
the new Snakepit album. SLASH was charged with domestic abuse in the
alleged beating of his former girlfriend. The two had broken up a couple
of weeks before. She talked her way into his hotel room by telling the
desk clerk she was SLASH's wife. When she got in his room, SLASH was
sleeping, and she physically attacked him there. SLASH finally had to
defend himself and had the desk clerk call police. This was on the 19th,
and the woman filed charges on the 26th. It's clear to us that this woman
is obsessed with SLASH and alternately calls him many times a day to go
back with her or to threaten him. SLASH awaits a hearing in September
where we are confident he will be vindicated.
