From Flash: Sometime ago I wrote you info about VR gig in Helsinki Finland. Well, the show was on tuesday and I sure as hell was there, center 6th row from the stage (more or less). I'm not going to write a long report about the show but I thought some fans might like to know at least a bit what it was like and to put it short, amazing! The band seemed to be in good spirit and the professionalism was glaring. Duff was rather serious, but it's not like anyone expected him to take the mic and tell a joke or two. He took the crowd in his own way. Slash walked around the stage quite a lot so that the people on the other side of the stage could get 'a piece of him' too and rubberman Weiland was just a blast to watch. Dave played great and made Matt laugh out loud when he gathered some speed and used the drum stand to jump way up in the air. This in the middle of a song of course. At one point the band left the stage and soon after that only Matt came back so I figured he was going to play a drum solo, but suddenly he was playing You Could Be Mine. It took a couple of beats until he realized Mr. Brownstone was the next song up so he switched the beat. Honest mistake or just a crowd teaser, don't know. 3 Gn'R songs, Brownstone, It's so easy and Used to love her (for those who care). The VR songs were just fantastic to hear live! There were a couple of songs on the album I hadn't quite understood before the gig, in a musical way, but after hearing them live, whoah! The Velvet stuff was so raw and powerful that the whole crowd was going crazy and the atmosphere was great. SLash did a couple of extended solos and I was there shaking my head, "how the fuck does he do that!?". Literally! The guy's just amazing! You got no right and loving the alien weren't played at all and I really wanted to hear Alien but it doesn't really matter 'cause the show was great even without. For the people who are not sure about the album or buying a concert ticket: do yourself a big fucking favour and get both if you already haven't! The stuff on the album is great and the same stuff live, phenomenal! It's an experience any VR or Slash fan shouldn't miss! Thank me later (and you will)! That's about it.. Oh, the show was about 1h 20min long and I'm wearing the most expensive t-shirt I ever had, but it was all well worth it. Of course I'm broke now, but still... Smuggled a camera there too but the pics are pretty shitty. Let me know if you have any use for them. Take care! Flash
