We attended the Buzzfest V in Nashville, TN on 10/16/04 with Velvet Revolver headlining, one word describes the band..... AWESOME!!! The band was about 40 minutes or so late going on and played for about 45-50 minutes. We found out in the paper over the next couple of days that Scott was suffering from the Flu. The band opened with "Sucker Train Blues" and it never slowed down from there. They also played "Do it for the Kids", "Big Machine", "Fall to Pieces" (<- Our favorites ->) , "Set Me Free", a GN'R classic "It's So Easy" and a classic STP song (the name of which eludes us at this moment). Then they closed the show with "Slither". Slash looked cool (as usual) in his leather pants and red t-shirt. He broke out the top hat for "Slither". Scott had a German style officers hat with the Iron cross on it. Even though he was sick that night, Scott (one of the last great front men in rock) still put on a HELL of a concert. It was great seeing them live and in front of a Amphitheatre type crowd again. It was great to see Slash on stage with members of his "Family" again. (Duff and Matt) We noticed on the video screen, during "It's So Easy" that Slash had this big smile on his face. Like it gave him great joy to be playing that song again in front of a HUGE crowd. Dave may not be as well known as the other members of the band, but he showed how superb of a guitar player he is. Even though we were freezing our B@// 's off, it was well worth it!! We can't wait until VR comes back to town with another kick @$$ show. Thanks, Jason and Denise Black P.S. It's great to see VR bringing Rock-N-Roll back to the masses the way it's SUPPOSED to be!!!
