From Mike20sm: You don't know me, but I've been contributing from time to time over the years. Just got back from the LA Show at the Wiltern, and it was a blast! I was initially worried 'cause I didn't learn about the recent show cancellations till earlier in the day, and feared that the June 8th Show might also be cancelled due to flu/larengitis. A quick call to the Wiltern confirmed that the show must go on. I was up in the mezzanine area and saw Perla looking very pregnant sitting toward the low middle area. It's nice to see her amongst the general crowd. I don't remember the set list, but it seemed like the standard one they've been using. The GNR/STP tunes were: it's so easy, brownstone, roaming (STP), Sex Type Thing (STP) they were big crowd pleasers. They ended on Negative Creep. If they were sick it didn't seem to affect their performances too badly, (Scott's vocals may have suffered, just a little). I got the album today and really like the two slower songs #6 Fall to Pieces (Slash used his new guitar on that one, the electric that sounds like an acoustic) and #10 You got no right #7 Headspace is great and I loved the Bass line Duff played in the opening song Sucker Train Blues I forgot to tell you an interesting tidbit. For once the audience delayed the show instead of the band! The Laker game was being played in the bar downstairs and it went into overtime, past 9:00, and everybody stayed to watch the end. Later on, midway through the show, Slash commented on how the Lakers won, and how someone came into their dressing room to say that half the audience wasn't in their seats because of the laker game, so they were smart enough to not start the show till it was over :)
