From Gustav: I just have to say: Velvet Revolver Rules. The Velvet Revolver definitely ruled over the Øya festival at Friday the 13.08.04. We (some friends and me) came to the venue aprox 18.00 at friday afternoon. Alredy at that time It was a huge Slash / Velvet Revolver expectation over the festival area. All people that I spoked to was just waiting for this event. Nothing else matterd. Evan the watchmen, and other employees at the festival where enthusiastic to the Velvet Revolver appearance. The warm up at the "Enga" stage was done by two Norwegian bands. The Savoy, and Gluecifer. At 21.30 Norwegian time, we finaly got what we came for. The Velvet Revolver entered the stage and all the fans got value for their money. We had taken position aprox 5 meters from the stage, and naturally the crowd was moving a bit. It`s not to hide. The Velvet Revolver are quite in another divisjon than any other band I have ever heard. They gave us cool tough, high volume rock music, and thank`s for that. Mr Weiland did, in my opinion a wery good job, he had a wery activ style at the stage. With this style he was really engaging the spectators. A huge number of the audience was dancing, and a lot more of the them was singing along with him. The mood was high, and the band gave a lot more than I had hoped for. Will they be back next year?? Regards to them all. Gustav
