From Katie: I went to the Seattle show with my friend >Donna. We had a very good time too. I missed the KISW interview with >Slash & Duff on the way to the show. I guess they were on at 3pm. Donna >and I got in line at the Moore Theater about 6:30 even though we had >reserved seating. I got us tickets for the balcony section because I >didn't want us to get smashed in the crowd. And, it worked out perfectly >because there was a combination of fog heat, cigerette & pot smoke that >was inside the venue. And, Donna would have gotten sick from all of the >if we were down in the crowd. While we were sitll in line, there was a >guy that was selling VR tour T-shirts for only $10 each. I bought three >for Donna, myself, and my friend Heidi; because I promised I would get >her one. And, when were let in the venue about 7:20, I bought myself a >pink girls babydoll VR shirt. And, there were also free promotional >posters that were taped on about the second level balcony of the building >fans were taking. And, just my luck, I got on myelf too:) The show >started about three minutes after 8pm. And, The Living Things came on >first. They were very, very cool too! They got that >Ramones-Stooges-Smithereens vibe going on. And, I thought that VR would >go at 9pm, because it didn't take long for the roadies to set up and test >all the quipment. But, they came on about 9:30. And, I was very, very >excited to see them; especially Duff himself:) He was very, very sweet >and cool during the show. At the end before the encore, on the right side >of the stage; he took out two of his bass picks and handed (not thrown) >to a couple of lucky fans. I thought that alone was very sweet of him to >do:) In between songs, he also wanted the lights on the fans that were >sitting on the first and second balconies just so he could say "Hi" to >them too:) He also did the pleasure of taking off his shirt aftter the >fourth song. But, not before Scott and Matt who took theirs off aftter >the first or second song. I met a very nice girl who had a shirt done up >that said; "I LOVE (the red heart) SLASH". She told me that she was in >the stage crowd and Slash saw the shirt and gave her a thumbs up:) The >band kicked ass live let me tall you!! They played songs from the >upcoming Contaband CD. And, they also played songs from classic GN'R and >STP like "I used to love her", "Sex Type Thing" , and "Its So Easy". I >thought Scott did a very good job of singing classic GN'R as did the band >did on "Sex Type Thing". Duff did a bitter dedication to Axl for "Its So >Easy", but I don't blame him at all. They came out for an encore, and I >think they played about two or three songs, I can't remember. Slash came >out with his tophat for the encore too. The very last song for encore >was "Slither". Everyone (including myself) sang along to Duff's "Ohh" >too:) For some reason before the encore, Scott was whispering to they >guys about something. Maybe it was about ending the set early or >something, I don't know. Because the lights went on between 10:20 and >10:30. Between bands, I was lucky enough to run into my friends Tom and >Robert from college. After the show, I saw some people waiting for the >band around the backstage door of the Moore theater to get autographs. >And, I really wanted to meet Duff, because I wanted to give him something >nice. While I was waiting I saw Dave heading toward the tour bus and I >was lucky enough to get his autograph on my free poster. I am so happy >about that too:) Dave was very nice, shy, and profesional. He really took >the time sign autographs for people and take pictures as well. I talked >to two very nice girls to see if they knew that Duff came out or not yet. >And, they told me they got to meet him. And, they witnessed him telling >Matt that he wanted to go home early and sleep in his own bed (in his >Seattle home) just for tonight. I was so crushed that I missed him, that >I cried when I got home. I am still sort of sad about it:( I wonder if I >will ever get to meet him?!? But, I am Glad about the other things I got >Friday night including Dave's autograph. I just Hope and Pray someday I >will get to meet Duff! Well, in the mean time I am very Glad to talk to >you again and tell you all about the Seattle show.
