First, thanks to people like you we are able to read and learn what's goin' on in the REAL world of R & F'n R. Many many thanks. Now, as far as the show is concerned: This was my second experience seeing VR perform. I saw them last year at the Wiltern. That was my first experience seeing these guys and I was blown away to learn how it all should really be done. Some of that night's highlights were Scott degrading some drunken fool who was tryin' to pick a fight, a great display of abilities between Slash and Dave who were trading solos during 'Slither', and Slash's comedic comments on the crazed Laker fans. It was an incredible performance only slightly hindered during the beginning by a bad sound mix. After about the fourth song, everything was crystal clear and powerful enough to keep the Wiltern standing until the very end. You gotta love the L.A. crowd. After much anticipation and anxiety I heard those comforting words, "Velvet Revolver will be in town!" Needless to say, my wife and I, and about six of my closest friends, were all standing by to purchase tickets as soon as they became available. Again, after much anticipation, we waited like an anxious group of toddlers for April 12th to come. It was an AMAZING night to say the least. Hoobastank....was....on stage. I can't really think of anything nice to say, so I won't continue there. THEN,....the lights dimmed and a very familiar voice came over the PA and the crowd went bizzerk!! The set list was almost exactly the same as the Wiltern performance, which I see as a bonus as it allows one to experience the band's improv ability and Slash's distinct way of rewiring his solos every time he performs. I noticed that the sound was like mud during the beginning again, but it all cleared up, this time during 'Do it for the kids.' The night was full of highlights, the biggest was during an STP lick where Scott gave a moving speech about life and the looking beyond the corporate world. Scott also made some comments supporting 'our troops' which was great to hear as I am an active duty Marine and about 15% of the crowd was military. Slash played about 8 or 9 different guitars during the night. I fell in love with his Les Paul w/Bigsby tremolo during 'Used to Love Her.' Slash really showed his versatility while Duff looked right at home playing a tune that helped start their career. Matt beat the skins with perfection while Dave held up the rhythm guitar side. Along with Duff, who made a hilarious comment about "the sweet smell of cannabis/AHH San Diego", Matt and Dave combined to provide an impeccable rhythm section. Each player definitely MAKES the band. The presentation was awesome, the band was magnificent, the crowd was mesmerized and I'm still smilin' about the whole damn thing! Great performance guys!! Keep fightin' the good fight and I'll be seein' you on stage soon. Tucker
